About us

worship

Every week we'll gather to worship the living God. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and our worship times are quite charasmatic, moving in those gifts of words, pictures, prophecies and spiritual tongues.

Christ First is very much Word and Spirit. We acknowledge Scripture's authority and infallibility while also embracing the pursuit of spiritual gifts as a manifestation of the Holy Spirit's work.

Prayer

We believe that God still answers prayer today. James 5:13-16 says:

13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Values:

The Nicene Creed perfectly outlines our statement of faith.

“We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With* the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic** and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.”

*This is the trinity. Although this word is not in the bible, throughout scripture it shows that God is three in one. Which shows us the eternal God of love. For without the trinity there would be no perfect eternal relationship, for who would God love?

**In this context ‘catholic’ means universal. It includes everyone and isn’t dependent on your denomination.
